LGBT Civil Rights Movement in 2009 -- "Rainbow Taipei, Health City"
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) Civil Rights Movement, Rainbow Taipei 2009 will be held on the 22nd of August. It is sponsored by the Taipei City Department of Civil Affairs (台北市政府民政局) and executed by the Taiwan AIDS Foundation.
Several exciting events will be shown this year under the theme "Rainbow Taipei, Health City". Firstly, the forum “Rainbow Taipei 2009”, hold by Associate Professor 謝文宜, the Taipei City Department of Civil Affairs and experts, scholars and friends concerned about this subject will be presented to discuss the relationship, health and rights of LGBT couples.
An opera of 《Er(r)os》by 錦衣衛靚劇廠 will be shown. The aim is to bring a better understanding of everyone in Taipei city towards LGBT friends and their families in several aspects including partner and family relationship, disputes, true love and difficulties deeply affect inside their life and live.
Q&A sessions will be followed, which purposes to shorten the distance between citizens and experts, scholars and friends concerned about this issue and LGBT people by enabling the audiences to understand the LGBT more deeply.
Lastly, the Rainbow Taipei, Chinese Valentine's Day Evening Party will be carried out. Romantic performing groups invited, we would like to invite LGBT friends and citizens of the public to participate in with all friends to celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day Evening together.
LGBT people are not only our friends and families but also citizens of Taipei city. They live and work like every other Taipei citizen; we share a common memory. We are indifferent, because we are family. By bring them close, hugging them, we can complete each other and enrich our life. Let us “health” each other.
