Opera 《Er(r)os》by錦衣衛靚劇廠

Program brief:
錦衣衛靚劇廠 is consisted of a group of National Taipei University of the Arts Department of Drama graduate students of whom, belief that theater can bring powers to society. 錦衣衛靚劇廠 develop their performances under the principle: "tell a story than tell a reason"; viewers may experience a connection between the plot and their life experience when they see the performance.

The plot describes a deceased writer Yan Han, who looks back to his life of his loved ones: ladies met in one-night stand, on a clandestine love affair an affair, heterosexual friends, ones he loved and those loved him. Yan Han was looking for Mrs. Right, and his attitude towards love changed as he forms relationships with his loved ones. In the end, Yan Han found who he thinks is Mrs. Right. He was willing to open his heart, and they made love, but both caught HIV virus. Interspersed in the play was the voice of Yan Han’s mother, who also appeared in Yan Han’s residence.

In addition to touch everyone’s heart, it is hoped that everyone can get a better understanding and empathy towards gay and lesbian’s concept of love, and to self-reflect the pursuit of true love. Mature in relationship brings happiness and content, making the community full of “love”. This can be a start, a place to make Taiwan society happier, and a better world.
